How to lighten dark underarms
My dark underarms never bothered me until I started taking dance classes. Every time I have my arms up my underarms are there in the mirror staring back at me!
I searched online for methods to lighten my underarms but all the methods seem tiresome. Then one day when I was toning my face with my homemade green tea toner I realized that it had lightened the dark circles under my eyes and removed dark spots and blemishes on my face so maybe it could work on my underarms?
So I dipped the cotton pad in the green tea and wiped my underarms with it. Ive been doing this every morning since a week ago when I wash my face and I can definitely see a difference. My underarms are lighter and softer than they were last week!
What you need:
Cup of green tea/green tea in a spray bottle (click here to see how to prepare the green tea)
Coconut oil (optional)
Deodorant of your choice
After showering, dab some green tea on your underarms with the cotton pad or directly from the spray bottle. Let it dry completely. Moisturize with coconut oil (optional) then apply your deodorant. Use everyday for best results.
Other methods to lighten underarms:
Lemon: Lemon juice's citric acid gradually dark patches and evens your skin tone. Simply slice open a lemon and rub it across the armpits. You can add a few drops of honey to a lemon before applying it directly to the area. Wait five to 10 minutes before rinsing off with cold water.
Potato:Take a thin slice of potato and rub your underarms with it for about 5-10 minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water.
Yogurt: Apply a small amout of organic plain yogurt to exfoliate and moisturize the skin as well as lighten and brighten it. Leave it on for 5mins and rinse off.
Cucumber: You can use cucumber to make your skin tone lighter as it contains natural bleaching agent. Simply apply cucumber juice under the arms using a cotton ball and wait for 15mins before you rinse off.
ACV: Apple cider vinegar can also help reduce dark patches and soften skin. Dilute ACV with equal quantity of water and use it on the armpits for 5-10mins.
Milk cream: Apply whole milk or cream under the arms and leave it on for few mins to lighten and whiten the skin naturally.
Honey: To brighten and lighten your skin, apply honey for approximately 15 minutes. Wash it off later with cold water.
