My top 5 celebrity naturals in SA

There are too many weaves and lace wigs in the South African entertainments industry.

There’s nothing wrong with that, but I wish there were more people in the public eye showing off their natural texture and proving that you don’t need an expensive weave to be beautiful. That’s why I take my hat off to the following ladies who rock their natural hair and look absolutely gorgeous while doing so;

5. Eda Rose

 Because I’m not based in SA, I’m too sure what she's known for. Socialite? TV presenter? Actress? I’m not sure and google wasn’t much help either. But one thing I’m sure about is that she has great hair! I love her hair colour and curl pattern. She always looks cute whether she’s wearing her hair up or down.

4. Zahara

I love Zahara because she is natural, simple and unaffected. This songstress hasn’t let all her success change her. She seems oblivious to the preconceived standards of beauty and she still wears her afro that she rocked from day one…and what a beautiful afro it is!

3. Pearl Thusi

She’s been my hair crush for as long as I can remember. This media darling has it going on. She’s a model, actress, presenter, radio co-host, MC, single mom AND her afro is on point. Proof that one person can have it all!

2. Claire Mawisa

Claire helped pave the way for other black models in South Africa when she was the second black model to feature on the cover of Cosmo magazine, since then she’s carved a nice media career for herself. Claire is a beauty though! I just love how her long stunning dreadlocks just complement her natural beauty.

1. Lira

My number 1 is Lira with her trademark short hair. No one can rock short hair the way she does. She makes it look effortless. Her hair is healthy, shiny and well looked after. Coupled with her talent and style, she is a true African princess.
