Why everyone is intrigued by Boitumelo's afro!

Name: Boitumelo Nxumalo

Age: 25 Years old

When and why did you go natural?

I had my last relaxer on the 31st July 2012, after that I made a decision to never put chemical on my hair ever again. I had very thick hair but after a few relaxers it just started thinning and especially around my hairline. That is when I started learning a lot about naturals from other blogs and youtube, that also gave me a peace of mind that I wasn't alone, and It made me want to embrace my God given coily strands.

Did you transition or big cop?

I transitioned for 8 Months then after I cut out the relaxed hair, it was a lot of it but It felt good after starting my new natural journey.

What is your hair type?

Well its kinda hard to tell, I am a mixture of 4c and 4b, but mostly 4c. My crown area is 4b and on the sides.

How did others (friends, family, and colleagues) react to your decision to go natural?

Well my Boyfriend wasn't very pleased as he preferred my hair long and straight, but after I explained to him why I want to be natural he understood, my friends and family were very supportive though.

What is your current regimen?

Well I just started my new regimen, which I am planning to stick to because in the past I was not very consistent. I wash my hair once a month with the Organic root stimulator Aloe Creamy shampoo since I am always in a protective hairstyle such as weaves and braids , then I condition my hair with Tresemme Naturals conditioner, I use T444Z on my scalp, then use the "As I am Butter cream" together with avocado oil to keep my hair soft and moisturized.

What are your holy grail products?

My holy grail products is my T444z hair food! its been a miracle to my hair and hairline!! and the my Tresemme conditioner, keeps my hair soft and smelling fresh.

What do you like the most about natural hair/being natural?

What I like most about being natural is my healthy bouncy fresh afro! everyone seems to be intrigued by it, and I love that and my scalp is happy.
